Where can I find a Dealer Friendly Landlord?
We’ve published a Google map showing 600+ locations where two or more Retail licensed dealers share the address. This map is included with our California DMV Pre-License Education course. You can find more information in Lesson 2.
Although Dealer 101® has no formal relationships with these landlords, we can confirm they are renting space to Retail licensed dealers that meet the DMV requirements and have the required zoning.
When you find a location that interests you, use Google’s “Street View,” as many locations show the landlord’s telephone number on the building.
Office Rental Costs
Offices typically rent for $250-500 per month, including signage and parking.
Loopnet is an excellent tool for location shopping.
Understanding the Map Pins
The map uses pins to show the number of dealers at each address:
- Red pins: 2 dealers
- Yellow pins: 3 to 9 dealers
- Green pins: 10 or more dealers
Click on the colored pin to show the building address and the number of dealers there.
Higher dealer counts, especially locations marked with green pins, generally indicate a landlord renting space to multiple vehicle dealers. Some buildings host up to 80 dealers, each with an office, display area, parking, and signage.
